I became a family medicine physician because I have always loved the breadth of caring for people through every season of life — understanding each person in the context of their family, their community, and everything else that shapes their health.
Over time, the traditional system made that harder to do. Patients waited a long time to be seen while I balanced a packed schedule against my desire to do a thorough assessment. Inevitably something was neglected: patient care, my family, or my own. I wasn’t able to be the doctor, the mother, the friend, or the thriving woman I had envisioned.
When I learned about Direct Primary Care, something clicked. It offered a way to care for patients that valued time, connection, and trust. I wanted to create a place that reminded me of the family clinic I went to as a teenager, where I could walk in after school, be greeted by people who knew me, and feel safe.
Outside the clinic she would like to be paddleboarding, skiing, or swimming in a cold lake, and is more likely to be driving her three children around town. Her first job was picking spinach.
